Linear integration

Connect Capture to Linear to automatically create issues with complete context for any bug. Screenshots, descriptions, and technical details flow directly into your Linear workspace without manual copying.

Connecting Linear

To connect Linear to Capture, you'll need to be a team admin:

1. Go to the Integrations page in your Capture dashboard
2. Find Linear and click Connect
3. You'll be redirected to Linear to authenticate and grant Capture access
4. Once connected, you can configure default destination settings

Configuring default settings

After connecting, configure where bug reports should go by default:

• Team - Which Linear team to create issues in
• Project - The specific project within your team (optional)
• Workflow status - The initial status for new issues (e.g., "Backlog", "Todo")
• Labels - Tags to automatically apply to issues (you can select multiple)

These defaults can be overridden when creating individual bug reports.

Auto-publish

Enable auto-publish to automatically send every bug report to Linear without manual selection. When auto-publish is enabled:

• The Linear integration is turned on by default when creating captures
• Users can still disable it for individual reports if needed
• Bug reports by guest users are automatically sent to Linear using the default settings

If auto-publish is disabled, users can opt in to publishing each report to Linear when they create it, or after creation from the capture dashboard.

What gets sent to Linear

When a bug report is published to Linear, the issue includes:

• Screenshot or screen recording - Attached to the issue
• Description - The user's explanation of what went wrong
• Environment details - Browser, device, and operating system information
• Custom context - Any additional data your team has configured in the Web SDK
• Link to full report - A link back to Capture.dev where developers can view console logs, network requests, and complete technical context
