Triggers

There are multiple ways to open the Capture Toolbar on your webpage.

Keyboard shortcut

The toolbar is always accessible via keyboard shortcut from anywhere on your site:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Alt + 1
  • Mac: Cmd + Option + 1

Download a reminder card to share with your team.

Trigger element

Trigger the toolbar from any clickable element on your page using the data-capture-trigger attribute:

html
<button data-capture-trigger>Report a bug</button>
<a href="#" data-capture-trigger>Found an issue?</a>

Pass a capture key to use different destination settings from the team defaults:

html
<button data-capture-trigger="CAPTURE_KEY">Report a bug</button>

URL parameter

Give your users a link that automatically loads with the toolbar open by appending ?capture=true to the URL of any page with the SDK installed.

https://my-app.com/dashboard?capture=true

The toolbar will persist across page navigations until the user decides to create a capture, or closes it manually.

Pass a capture key to use different destination settings from the team defaults:

https://my-app.com/dashboard?capture=CAPTURE_KEY

Programmatically

Open the toolbar directly in JavaScript:

javascript
Capture.open();

Pass a capture key to use different destination settings from the team defaults:

javascript
Capture.open({ captureKey: "SPACE_CAPTURE_KEY" });
