Slack

Enable our Slack integration to automatically send a notification to a Slack channel whenever you capture new feedback or bug reports from your website.

Getting started

To begin, ensure you have a Capture.dev account. If you don’t already have one, you can sign up at app.capture.dev.

After signing up, you’ll be prompted to install the Capture widget. You can install the widget in one of two ways: • By installing our browser extension, or • By adding a small JavaScript snippet to your webpage.

Once the Capture widget is installed, you can start collecting feedback directly from your webpage. Each time you create a new capture, a unique link is generated, which you can access through your Capture.dev dashboard.

By connecting your Slack account to Capture.dev, you can send automatic notifications to a Slack channel whenever a new capture is created.

Connecting to Slack

To connect your Slack account:

To connect your Slack account:

  1. Navigate to the integrations page on Capture.dev.
  2. Click the Connect to Slack button.
  3. You’ll be redirected to Slack, where you’ll need to authorize the connection.
  4. After authorizing, you’ll be redirected back to Capture.dev to configure the integration.
  5. Select the Slack channel where you want to receive notifications, or leave blank if you do not wish to enable automatic notifications.

The Slack integration also supports link unfurling, which you can configure from the Slack integration settings page. When link unfurling is enabled, any link to Capture.dev shared in your Slack workspace will automatically expand into a rich preview.

If you prefer not to use this feature, you can disable it in the settings.
